Its great but…
The console is great but i notice they got rid of customizing your theme aka your background so youre just stuck with the default and you can still change your avatar but you cant buy it on the ps online store. You will have to buy new avatars from your ps4. System is super quiet and all my games loads a little too fast meaning i cant really eat between loading screens as much as i use too lol

Fairly priced for inflation market
Ps5 came with 1 controller and charger wire, and HDMI cable for tv, which was nice. Sadly, there are almost no ps5 bundles out there for a decent price. Hopefully you or your kids are really into false gods violent God of war game because that’s the level of quality that Sony will stoop to offer it’s fanbase. No Star Wars games like Jedi survivor, no more horizon zero dawn forbidden west bundles, they’re out to push their cruddy god of war series on you and it’s not even a good deal at the prices they ask. Just buy a plain unit like I did and go from there for anything good.

I am glad I bought the PS5 since I have a PS4 Pro and PS VR side by side. I have just started playing. I bought yesterday Ace of Combat 7. Skies Unknown- Maverick Edition. I just need to buy a $15 adapter to plug the VR to the PS5. That’s itHaving a PS4 Pro with CD – ROM and a PS5 Digital side by side is the greatest combination there is.Play on buddies!

I’ve had every PS system as they’ve come out, so I was thrilled to get a PS5 a few months ago. Each system is better than the last, and this one is no exception. I love the graphics, and it’s also fantastic that the PS5 can play PS4 discs. If you enjoy video games, you really can’t do better than this system.

Exceeded my expectations
The PS5 was supremely hard to come by thanks to supply chain shortages and scalpers, but once I found one (I was NOT going to pay scalper prices), I didn’t regret buying it. The PS5 is a VERY nice upgrade from the PS4 Slim, and a quite a good upgrade from the PS4 Pro (thanks, Sony for not putting a 4K DVD player in the PS4 Pro).The performance is quite refreshing, on par and sometimes exceeding (in unscientific tests) the XBox Series X. Neither console is a slouch, to be sure, and I almost exclusively use consoles because I don’t do Windows as an OS. (It’s anathema on my PCs). Both consoles are great, but I’ve always been a fan of the Playstation, since it was the first console I bought new. It was a tossup between the Saturn and the PS1. I chose the PS1 for Tekken. 🙂 The rest is Sony fanboy history…I LOVE the controller, though I wish it had a better mechanism to replace the battery. The triggers are neat with their haptic feedback, especially in racing games that support that feature (or Cyberpunk 2077 when driving or riding motorcycles). The console is quiet, like the Series X. It also has a good aesthetic, though I always set my consoles horizontally (except my Series S, which I have hooked up beside my PC.)My only complaints are the size and the included stand (that serves double duty for horizontal/vertical). I know the PS5 is huge because of the cooling and whatnot, but the Series X is tiny compared to the PS5. I think Microsoft hit it out of the park in terms of squeezing that much power into that tiny a case. Sony doesn’t need to out-miniaturize Microsoft, but I would’ve liked a better horizontal stand. That’s a couple of minor complaints, to be sure.Sony fanboy or not, you will get GREAT use out of this console on your newly minted 4k TV. (Or your old cheap one like mine.) The new UI is simple and effective (and not laggy like the PS3), and the game selection is top notch. I just can’t see myself playing JRPGs on my XBox. :)Once you put internal storage in the system (much easier and cheaper than the XBox, which discourages changing the internals and Microsoft went with that proprietary giant USB style storage stick) the PS5 is ready for every game you can throw at it… including older ones. :)Get it. You won’t be disappointed. 🙂

The next level of gaming in a sleek and symmetrical package.
I’ve had my PS5 Digital Edition for over a week now and I’m very impressed with it. The DualSense controller is a revelation in gaming immersion. In games that support haptic feedback, vibrations in the DualSense are based specifically on what’s happening onscreen. Reloading a revolver in Borderlands 3? You’ll feel a series of small, targeted vibrations that correspond perfectly with the reloading animation on your screen. The adaptive triggers are excellent as well. I don’t have any experience with real guns, so I can only guess that the small bit of resistance every time I fire Jesse Faden’s gun in the PS5 version of Control must be based on the way it feels to pull a real trigger. It all makes for an unprecedented tactile experience.Beyond that, playing games on the PS5 in Performance Mode is fantastic. I’ve been playing in this mode on a 1080p television with nothing but crisp visuals and smooth gameplay. God of War Ragnarok (the game that was included with this bundle) looks especially nice. I imagine the Resolution Mode is good for people who have 4K televisions, but the smoothness of Performance Mode is where it’s at for me.Because this is an all-digital console, I recommend buying extra storage for it in the form of a supported NVMe SSD with a heatsink included. I went with the WD_BLACK 2TB SN850X, but go with whichever one feels right to you.To me, the PS5 looks nice without that awkward disc drive bulge on one side. If you care about your console’s aesthetics, the PS5 Digital Edition is the way to go.This isn’t impacting my score, but one important thing I want to mention is that when I received my PS5, it looked like the box had been previously opened and then returned. Everything inside was in pristine condition and the God of War Ragnarok code was unused, so no harm done. I’m guessing that somebody accidentally ordered the Digital Edition or were accidentally sent it when they had really wanted the PS5 with a disc drive. But Salesdirect probably should have listed the PS5 I received as Used, Like New instead of New. I’m saying all of this to tell you to be careful when receiving a PS5 from Salesdirect. When you open that shipping box, make sure that what’s inside is a new console. If there are signs that it’s been previously opened, then make sure that the console and everything that came with it is accounted for, unused, and undamaged.

Wow! Exceeds Expectations
MAY 11, 2023+ Controller design is sleek … smaller buttons. Easier to hit what you want.+ Share, Options and PS buttons have a profile. No more groping for them. (Hate the flush PS4 buttons.)+ The on-screen keyboard is greatly improved. Much easier & faster.+ And finally … the graphics. *chef’s kiss* It’s like I have a new TV. Not exaggerating. Vibrant & crisp. I wasn’t prepared for how beautiful games look. Didn’t touch TV settings. Just plugged in the PS5 and voila! Games that I always had trouble with reading text are a thing of the past. Everything on screen is crystal clear.Had the PS5 shipped in Salesdirect packing for obvious reasons but was uneasy based on comments. Was sitting outside waiting when the driver arrived and placed the box next to me. The tape was mostly pulled away from the top flaps. One side of the box was torn and the PS5 box was clearly visible. My heart sank. Happily, I received a pristine PS5. The Sony box doesn’t have a mark or dent on it. The seal was intact and everything inside was untouched. (Sadly, the literature is in Spanish & French only. Oops!) The console booted normally and plays discs perfectly. Encountered none of the issues others recently described.This is truly money well spent. If you game a lot and want a better experience but haven’t managed to pull the trigger, I say go for it! I’m so happy with this console. It’s absolutely better than PS4 and not just a little bit. I’ve been very happy with my PS4 and didn’t expect wonders but the PS5 is a significant step up.==============================================================================TIPSIf your brand new PS5 isn’t reading discs, don’t panic. The optical scanner is on the outside of the slot, meaning that you must face the label in towards the console. For most people, it’s counterintuitive. I unwittingly put the first disc in backwards and thought I had a console with a bad reader. Nope. It works fine. (Read June 6, 2023 update below regarding optical reader!)The UI on the PS5 is NOT like PS4. If you can’t seem to get to the main menu, which they call the Control Center, hit the PS button twice. (some screens only require that you press it once)Do not put your PS5 on a base with ‘cooling fans’ in it. The PS5 pulls air in at the top and vents at the bottom. Bases with fans blow the hot air up and overheat the console. PS5 definitely does not run as hot as PS4. As long as there’s breathing space around the PS5, it should be fine.Crashing – It’s not constant but there’s no way around it, especially if you’re playing games that were originally created for PC. While PS5 is better than PS4 at rendering graphics, no PlayStation has the chops to render graphics like PCs with high end GPUs. The only PS games that have ever crashed on me are PC games that were ported to PlayStation. Happily, I’ve never lost data due to crashes.===================================================================Update June 6, 2023:Today one of my CD games (Stray) tried to update. The console kept throwing an error code (CE-10005-6) that it couldn’t read the disc. It’s a new disc with no scratches or fingerprints. Moreover, the PS5 read this disc/installed the game the day I received the console. I knew it wasn’t a disc issue so I laid the console on its side. Lo and behold, this time the PS5 read the disc. Reader issue.

It’s a PS5, but it feels lacking in games
I got the PS5 for one game more or less (FFXVI) and so far it’s been a good console. For 4k gaming the PS5 is a good entry point for a relatively decent price. Also, the DualSense is surprisingly my favorite thing about the PS5. The adaptive triggers I enjoy, especially in games like GTA V. The new haptic motors and the triggers vibrating and having resistance depending on what’s going on in GTA really highlighted how great these features are. Though, they are to taste: some like adaptive triggers, some hate it.The one negative I have with the PS5, which admittedly is at no fault of the console, is that I also have a gaming PC. So, many of the titles that are available on the PS5 I can get on my PC that has better hardware. Also, the ps5’s UI has a bit less features than the PS4 had. Still, it’s a great console that is 4k capable for anyone that wants to game and doesn’t have a high end gaming capable PC to begin with. Hopefully soon more games will arrive that tap into the ps5’s features.

The haptic feedback can not be placed into words, it must be experienced first hand, but if I were to try and use words for it, I would say AWESOME!!! The ps5 interface is nice. Elden ring and Devil May Cry look absolutely stunning on the system. Load times are near instant. Fully recommend.

I’ve owned PlayStation 1, 3 and 4. So the PS5 was not going to be an exception.I’ve been using the PS5 for a few weeks now, and it’s really a big step up from the PS4. I have the CFI-1215A01X disc version, it doesn’t get very hot, despite playing for several hours. The PS Plus extra is a very good way to get some good games.

PC Gaming too much went back to console
Thing works wonderfully. With the nvme hard drive, load times are almost non existent. Games not as varied as PC but with PS Plus, you get a variety to play for $17/mo. Love it.

Its amazing.
It still blows my mind how fast everything loads on this thing.With ps4 I used to have buffer time to go grab a drink, run to the bathroom, take my dogs out etc. before some games would finish their load times.The Ps5 is so fast it blows my mind!Graphics are top notch aswell and so many partcal effects with no drop in frame rate on any game I’ve experienced on it thus far.10/10 and two thumbs up from me!

PlayStation 5 Digital Review
I heard a few things about the ps5 digital coming from Salesdirect but I just received it today and so far it’s perfect. There’s nothing I can complain about. there was a couple times it kind of froze but that’s not the console itself, I think that’s something sony needs to work on because my old Gen PlayStation also did that occasionally. I would recommend!

Amazing New System!
This is a real next generation experience! The loading times are something I could only dream of a gamer back in the day. The thing runs so smooth and quietly and is truly amazing. It’s a big system but it is worth it with how much power and ability it has.
