Amazing sound but needs tiny improvements.

These earbuds are almost perfect. Sound? Perfect. App. Perfect. But connectivity can be a bit of a issue, if B&O tackles their software being subpar then their earbuds have nearly no competitor IMO. Noise cancellation is above average, it’s not AirPods Sony or Bose. The app allows you to change transparency on a scale 1-3. That is an awesome feature for someone like me. The EQ is amazing, I know people complain about not being able to change the touch controls but that’s a lame complaint to be honest. I have Beats fit pros which are basically airpod pros with a bit more bass and a newer chip in them, these earbuds blew them out of the water so quickly. No doubt these earbuds are amazing, they have an awesome look, love the simplicity. They fit well, not the best but you know. Hope they push more updates and come out with new earbuds with better software to patch the holes in this otherwise great pair of earbuds.

    Candy for Ears!

Overall sound is amazing as expected from B&O, the only comparable to its sound qualities are my PI7, even my APP sounds meh compared to this. Sound is rich, every instrument is defined, vocals are crystal clear, bass kicks, you can make it sound warm. The app gives it extra sound settings but not that much, it works and sounds right out of the box.B&O doesn’t states anything about dolby/atmos but for some reason it works on these earphones, when watching movies on a dell xps9710, if the content is dolby enabled it activates somehow with these earphones and on my mbp the sound is similar of that of spatial from the APP. Not identical but sure as hell it makes you question if you are using the correct earphones.Speaking of APP the noice cancelling are identical on both, it is slower to adapt on the EQ but it reach the same level of noice cancelling, but there are better noice cancelling earphones out there if you only care about that. One thing to take in consideration are the ear tips: physically the S/M/L size are too small compared to the rest of the market, no idea why but all ear tips on the box are too loose on the ear. So you WILL have to buy from another source all your ear tips. I recommend the ones from complyfoam as those gave me the best result on noice cancelling and comfort. Might be that my ears are just wrong.Battery life is king right now as 22/02/22 on the market, even with ANC I still manage to get 6+ hours from each ear bud. The battery on the case is on the short size with barely 20 hours but it charge quite fast even on wireless pads. The bad thing on these are the touch controls, sometimes it works or it is just too sensitive. B&O really needs to patch this out, while you can play/pause/call, you can also do volume up/down, but the main problem is that since it is too sensitive it changes the ANC too much even when just trying to accommodate them on your ears it just triggers the touch controls. It needs to be allowed to configure the gesture/touches on these things.Sound: 10/10, so good.ANC: 8/10, same as APP but obviously there are better options.Fitting: *?/10, I have no idea where did it go wrong but at least there are options to solve this problem.Battery: 10/10, best on the market.Controls: 7/10, needs a patch ASAP!

Amazing Set of TW Earbuds With Caveats

These were probably the best sounding earbuds out of the many that I’ve tried. Comparing to the Sony Wf-1000xm4, Sennheiser MTW2, Airpods Pro, and Galaxy Buds+. I gotta say these have been the best TW earbuds that I have heard. However, with the many caveats when it came to features and overall ANC performance, it was a little behind. If you are looking for sound quality first, I would say go for these. Otherwise heres a short pro and con list from my experience with these:Pros:- Super wide soundstage, Signature B&O sound with a balanced sound signature. Pretty good bass response too- App EQ slider is pretty easy to use too.- Build quality is second to none. The aluminium case and the overall material used were very premium.- Battery life was not terrible. 6.5 hours was pretty ample.Cons:- Touch controls were pretty hard to use. They were constantly not registering taps.- No customizability for touch controls. They could really use a skip track function.- Switching devices with this was pretty annoying. They required repairing everytime you switched devices, and getting them into pairing mode was a hassle, since the touch controls were not great. Also no multipoint connect…- Shape of the earbuds made them stick pretty far out. If you lay on your bed on the side, while using these, it definitely feels like there is something there.- The Comply eartips provided make the earbuds occasionally disconnect from charging contacts in the case. So sometimes you end up with low battery earbuds when you take them out again.I think these are a great option from Bang and Olufsen in the TW earbuds space. However, with the price and lack of some refinement with some quality of life features made me ultimately return these. I would get these if you have another pair of daily TW earbuds lying around, and only use these for occasional listening. Otherwise, I’d suggest to look for other options. I’d give these earbuds a 3.5/5 for an overall rating.

So very close to perfect, but

They sound AMAZING!!!!! But with that said there is a comfort issue with the design. The ear tubes are round with interchangeable end cushions however the speaker portion sits vertically up from the tube putting the weight of the device on your ear canal which became rather uncomfortable after about 30 minutes of use. I will look back to B&O the next time I need ear buds but for now Bose won out.

  5. W. Shepard’s Opinion

    3.0 out of 5 stars

My problem was they are called Beoplay EQ and has no EQ

I get that some will say has some presets in the app that allows you to change to different presets based upon what you are listening too. However, this is not an EQ that allows you customize the frequencies. This does not mean that they sound bad because the earbuds sound phenomenal. I would have liked to had the option to adjust the Highs, Mids and the lows to accompany the music I was listening too at the time. I love music from jazz – Hip Hop to Gospel to Reggae to Classical etc… These all have different sound signatures and presets don’t cut it. The volume could have a little louder. The ANC was as good as some $80 buds I have. I purchased them in Midnight Blue and there was no complaints about the build quality, it was on point. I do think they are also overpriced, I did catch them on sale for $248. But $399 is not worth buying. I am hoping the next Gen will improve on some of these suggestions. I returned my buds and bought a much better pair for almost a 3rd of the price. And I think has a similar sound signature in the Sennheiser CX Plus.

    Broken within 90 days

These headphones stopped working properly in LESS THAN 60 DAYS of buying them.I gave them to my girlfriend on Christmas — she was thrilled and I was happy to get her a high quality product from a reputable audio manufacturer I admired — they were not working properly by the end of February. Not only was one ear completely silent by the beginning of March, but the support we have received from B&O has been horrendous. And — despite extreme patience, independent efforts and attempts (to update firmware, restart, hard reset, etc), and a significant amount of time, the B&O support team has been terrible at keeping us updated and we shipped the headphones off in mid-march. It is now approaching Mid-June and their support team is yet to even analyze whether or not they can fix them…. the offer to replace was never even floated — citing a policy of mailing, inspecting, reviewing, and THEN and only THEN determining if a repair would be made or a replacement would be sent.I would expect a (seemingly) high-quality audio brand like B&O to want to uphold a good reputation. So it continues to surprise me that there has never been an offer to simply ship a new pair (considering we hadn’t even had these in working condition for 90 days!)Now, I recognize the support of the manufacturer is NOT 100% on Salesdirect, as the seller, here. And we were told we had to go through the manufacturer from the beginning — but this product has been problematic, and my girlfriend got such little use out of this product — AND we have, frankly, been “Richard’d” around by B&O for SO long, at this point… that I couldn’t NOT come leave a review and warn other potential buyers.– Sorry, Mr. (or Ms.) Seller*, to leave you a poor review on a product you did not manufacture, design, or have the option to replace — but any product that doesn’t function past the 90-day mark, would, personally, make me (re)consider selling it at all.*I now realize this was not sold by an independent seller, but was, in fact, sold by Salesdirect, proper.Which, this is EVEN more reason to say:Please reconsider the options here, future buyers, and for the seller: I’d love to hear from someone regarding potential options to make this right because honestly, B&O does not seem to be prioritizing the issue at all.🔊👂 🔇👂 …🤷‍♂️ 💸🔥🙉

If sound quality is the most important factor to you, these are worth the price of admission.

Sound quality is excellent with these earbuds. Clarity, detail and bass are all high points. Hard to explain, but the sound has more texture than competing earbuds I’ve tried, like the Sony XM4s. Guitars are crunchy in a good way.Noise canceling is pretty darn good. Certainly noticeable when it’s on. I use these in the office and they do the job well. Haven’t tried them on a flight yet, but I assume they won’t perform quite to the level of a good pair of over the ears, but good enough.Comfort is fine with the included memory foam tips and I haven’t had issues with the buds falling out while walking around, but they don’t feel as secure as a dedicated sport pair of earbuds with ear hooks. One thing I noticed that is a big benefit is that I don’t experience pressure in my ears while walking or chewing. If you know what I mean, you know what I mean.Battery life has been fine for me. Could be better, but by no means is it bad.Love the design and size of the case. Its small, pocketable and premium feeling. One bummer is the on buds controls. Not having the ability to change tracks on the buds is really annoying. I don’t like having to grab my phone to change tracks when a quick double tap on the buds could do the trick with a software update. All in all this is a great set up earbuds for people that prize sound quality but are not willing to make many compromises in other areas. I’m glad I bought them and expect I’ll be enjoying them for years to come.**Quick update- I just received a software update that added track skip controls to the earbuds as well as multi-point connection functionality. The best got even better. Updating my rating to 5 stars. Way to go B&O!

    Sound signature blows you away

The sound on these earbuds are better than my Sony 1000xm3. I find the noise canceling just as good. There is clean separation in the tracks and the bass is very nice. Flossy Carter reviewed these and Floss is virtually always on point in all of his reviews. I can hear people on the phone very well, and they can hear me.The biggest issue that you will have is setting up the ear bud’s. The smaller ear tips worked for me , and because everyone has different sized ears don’t listen to people telling you what size to use. Try them all and decide by which is most comfortable, and seal best for ANC to function best. There seems to be a process to set them up. First set up the case through Bluetooth then add the earbuds. To turn in the earbuds you have to open the case and hold both buds for about 5 seconds. After that download and install the app if you did everything and it won’t connect through the app u install then re install the appI needed tech support to get me started, but theses are worth the 359.00 that I paid, and dont forget to check for software updates. 😉 Play around with the Equalizer app, and you can get a good sound preference for your ear once you find out how to operate the app. The only real downside to these earbuds are the setting up of the EQs and the app setup. The app seems to sometimes show low battery power even after being fully charged. If I reboot the phone and close the case with the buds installed things straighten out.So far after a week of use the sound and call quality make these my personal best headsets. The 1000xm3 are being retired, and my Galaxy Buds Pro for all around usage is back up……the Buds Pro just keep falling out of my ears.B&O needs to address the app and set up processes but these are top tier as Flossy Carter says.

Better than the best, for a price

If you’re here for the sound, Congratulations you have found in my opinion today’s date the best sounding earbuds ever with a customizable equalizer (if you prefer alot of bass or alot of tremble in your earbuds) it is there. The software and the app work very well, and can obviously be seen that it was put some time into compared to the bowers & wilkins pi7, these are also, in my opinion 100% better and should be chosen over them any day. Also unlike tha pi7’s I have experienced ZERO connectivity problems or issues. They do come with a big price of $400 which is alot comparing to others but if you have the money it’s worth the ride. The noise cancelation is better than average and works pretty good, but if you’re using these for biking or being around wind alot it doesn’t go great against that (not as bad as jabra’s 85t but you can still hear wind). One of my greatest dissapointments is the customization of the buttons. It would be amazing if you could change the controls for the earbuds to add a play or pause to the earbuds (yes, that is not a button on the earbuds). Since everything requires a double tap atleast which I’m assuming is for accidental press or accidental activation from a hat, it would be easier just to allow them to customize them.Wish the fit on the earbuds were better and had more sizes for medium and large. But still comfortable.Overall, compared to jabra, sennheiser, bowers & wilkins, and airpods, these are my favorite and best sounding earbuds I’ve ever had.

Best earbuds I’ve ever used. I can’t take them out!

I want to start by cutting right to the point…. These are the best earbuds. If you are a pretentious person and need the very best product with the best sound, comfort, battery life, design, call quality, these are it!I’ve always went back to my Apple Airpod Pro’s and was looking forward to the new Airpod Pro’s because of the quality the sound and microphone when talking to other people. However, they are not great for music and lack the better lows and really sound mediocre really. When you compare them to the sound of Sony XM4’s, Sennheiser Momentums, and even the PI7’s. Let me tell you, these Beoplay EQ’s are crazy! The sound will make you turn your head, slap yo momma, apologize to her, cry like a baby, and smile wider because you’ve NEVER heard anything like these.I was worried about the fit too. The Airpod Pro’s didn’t fit me because my stupid ear holes are apparently too big. I had to buy foam tips. I used the comply’s that came with these EQ’s and they fit beautifully. The one thing I would say is they are similar to the ANC of the Airpods Pro’s. Not as great but they PLENTY quiet enough to not hear anyone else on the street, restaurant, your loud teenagers screaming…. etc.In all seriousness, get these. They are worth well more than I bought them for… $399. Just be prepared to never want to take them out.

Sony is better on all accounts. EASY going back.

Expected these to sound better than Sony WF-1000XM4s. To my surprise they didn’t come close (using w/Fold3) despite higher price and many reviews to indicate the case.Sony has fuller sound, more control over it, and exceptional software (instant on, no bugs I could find). B&O app is super buggy. It’s slow, it crashes, and sometimes only one of the headphones comes online. If this is the Range Rover if IEMs it should at least sound better. Will try MW08 and Euclid’s next to see if I can improve on XM4s. My reference is LCD-MX4, in case there is a doubt over my sound preferences)

The sound and call quality is top of the top

I loved the earbuds from b&o noise cancelation work very well and transparency mode the only problem I had encountered is that transparency mode doesn’t work with single earbud you have to have both I hope they can update them so they can work with single earbud battery life was 5 and a half hour without noise canceling maybe because I used it for the first time never lost connection I restarted my phone and they connected automatically call quality is crystal clear I have bought many earbuds expensive but always down side either connection or call quality problem the b&o I have not encounter any issues .

    Simple, they are awesome

Sound quality is best in class. They rival some of my over the ear headphones. Noise canceling it crazy good, near Sony god mode levels. Controls are easy to use, but quirky with no advance or rewind. If you wear a smart watch you just relearn to use that for track control. Case exterior is metal and feels and looks premium. Easily pocketed. They fit smaller in ear than they look in photos, basically flush with edge of ear. Would easily buy again for the sound alone. I’m hearing noises and instruments in tracks I’ve missed before. That’s only ever happened before with my studio monitor cans.

The sound on these earbuds is amazing. They are as good as most headphones. Bass is rich and strong. The one issue that I have had is the app is confusing if the noise canceling is on or not. The noise canceling is not as good as my Bose QC earbuds. They are a joy to listen to.

    Sound Quality is mind blowing!

Best sounding headphones I have found so far. They have blown me away with the quality and features it offers to amplify the music. Only thing now is I’ve had the headphones for about 1 month and already having problems with the left ear bud cutting out and having to take out of ear and place back in for it to cut out again. Or have to put back in charge box and pull out to work. Still reads 💯 percent charged so idk what problem could be. For 400$ headphones don’t expect for this to happen! Sound quality is top tier but upset about the cut outs on headphones

    Left earbud wouldn’t stay connected

Loved the sound and quality of matériels, but the left earbud stopped connecting less than a week in. The buds were also a bit big and kept falling out no matter which size ear piece I used. Disappointing, but I swapped them out for the B&O EX and LOVE THEM!

Superb Sound – Glitchy Touch Controls & App

The sound on these earbuds is absolutely sublime – eargasmic in fact. However – touch Controls are Glitchy. My right earbud mysteriously disconnects, pairing can be a minor pain and occasionally the app freezes. Honestly, if these were $100 less I might not mind – BUT for the current price I’ll probably send them back to SalesdirectEdit 12/11/2021I am lowering my review down to a “2 Star” due to the positively horrible support from B&O. They advised me units sent in for warranty need to be examined and held for 7-10 BUSINESS DAYS. Considering I have only had the EQs for a few days – this is insult to injury. I cannot recommend buying anything from a company that has a policy like this. Any other company would have overnighted a replacement for a DEFECTIVE product, especially when we’re talking about $400 earbuds.

    Great sound

Sound quality is better than most. Better than MD MW08, Hifiman TWS 800, BW PI18. I have enjoyed listening to the original Sennheiser Momentum TW for several years now. Over all i enjoy the sound quality of Sennheiser a little more than BW EQ. Sennheiser has a fuller sound, better vocals, a little better bass. The BO EQ has better instrument sound on some songs. It is possible the BO EQ is closer to as recorded.BO EQ has much better battery life. When I set the surrounding settings in the app the settings are lost the next time the earbuds are used.

    Issues with pairing

After 45 min of use the left ear bud auto disconnects. It happens like clock work and it drives me nuts. This is the first time I’ve had issues with this brand. I’ve attempted to unpair them and then repair them and that does not solve the issue. I have updated the app, it still has not solved the issue. I will be contacting customer service to see what they can do.

    Another Great B&O product

Great product. Fantastic sound quality. Impeccable build quality. Feather weight. Clever charging/storage box with magnets that prevent you from dropping or losing an earbud. Worth every penny. Would definitely buy again or recommend.I have two sets of B&O headphones (H8 & H9). The EQ earbuds are far more comfortable than the H8s and as good sound as the H9s.Only drawback is that the EQs can’t be paired with more than one BT device at a time. It would be nice to pair to my laptop and phone together like a lot of other brands do. Still, not a deal breaker.

    Is this worth the money?

As of 03/2022. No, absolutely not. Consumers will not be kind and let you get away with charging a huge premium on buggy product. Here’s why: (1) app fails to connect to buds 75% of the time. (2) It does not remember your settings. For example you have to go in and manually turn o/off transparency mode—EVERY TIME you put this up to your ear, then crash. (3) does not allow to turn off transparency during calls. Usually, not an issue, but it also turns on noise cancelation—and does not turn it off, even after the phone call ends. Again, need to go back into the app to disable it…oh wait it’s unresponsive, again. (4) mic picks up a lot of background noise, unless even with the slightest wind. (5) case fails to close properly with the larger/included ear pieces. (6) transparency mode is bad, sounds listening to AM radio compared to other products. (7) each firmware takes close to 30 Minutes to update. (8) fails to connect both, and only connect to one ear phone at a time. At $400 these does sound good, but marginally good compared to other $200 products with less headaches.

    awful pairing, awkward case design

sound quality is really fantastic. these fail in every other way. controls are a pain, pairing is a nightmare, app is somehow getting worse and worse. design of the case/buds does not make it obvious which is which or how they fit, so expect to futz with it every time. i just adjusted them in my ears and somehow turned off the noise canceling. when i opened the app to fix it, all controls were unresponsive until closing and reopening the app twice. i like my beoplay h4’s despite some flaws. but these are garbage, wish i had returned them while i could. just couldn’t believe they’d really be this bad!

    Not worth it at all

These headphones are really good when it comes to sound fidelity, but not much else. The maximum volume is too low, it is very uncomfortable to wear (it keeps pushing itself out of my ears), the microphone is odd (it works sometimes really well, but most of the time it doesn’t), and it turns and connects to my phone even when the headphones are inside the case! Which ends up draining the battery of course. And on top of all that, I had a lot of connectivity issues with the headphones. I use an iPhone 12, so I don’t think the problem is from my phone. Overall, bad product and is nowhere near worth the cost.

The only reason i am giving it 4 stars not 5 is because the are a bit big and heavy.Otherwise they have the best sound quality and ANC.

    Sonido hifi

Superior Sound Quality/Premium, Sleek Design. If You Can Look Past the Software.

***Sound, 5 stars: Perfection–The sound quality is amazing on these buds. Especially, when you sync that up with an EQ, they are able to produce a much more customizable and dynamic sound stage. You will hear every instrument and vocal note in perfect clarity. The superior sound quality is an incredible accomplishment. However, that’s what one should expect for these at this price range. Now, let me talk about where B&O falls short and why I don’t exactly agree with the tag on these.***Design: Sleek, premium, sexy, 4.5 stars–It is *almost* flawless. Aside from fitting issues (as I’ll mention below), the design is excellent and definitely feels luxurious/premium.***Software: Leaves much to be desired, 2 stars–For such a sleek and sexy design, the software is where they fall short extensively. The fact I am not able to -seamlessly- switch between devices is just ridiculous. In order for you to rock these on another paired device you have to do a hard disconnect and reconnect. That just sucks. Especially if you have a setup where your phone and computer are integrated, and you want to resume what you were doing in another room on your phone/Bluetooth enabled device. Yes, it can remember up 6 devices (I think that’s what they said), but the hard disconnect/reconnect is an unacceptable *bug* at this price range. The app is decent, it supplies a watered-down equalizer to allow customization of the sound stage. For me, it’s good enough. But if you are the type that likes precision adjustments to your sound, then you will not get that with the app. You will need a separate equalizer. Also, the app takes forever to find the earbuds. There is just too much time between putting them in your ears, connecting, opening the app, and then finally changing the sound. The left earbud will sometimes completely drop out while the right bud keeps playing. Thus, you must sometimes put the bud giving you trouble back in the case in order to get them synced back up. For $400, to have that kind of persistent and experience-breaking problem is unacceptable in my opinion. The buds will also (out of nowhere) while running my music become out of sync. The sound becomes extremely choppy. The solution is to either pause the music to let the sound sync back up, but if that doesn’t work, then you’ll have to put the buds back in the case to and put back on to sync.–I am sure you have read other reviews, and seen you cannot skip, replay, or go back a track on the earbud’s multipoint sensors. This is true. Instead, they opted for a feature that I think is much more trivial and useless. You can adjust the volume through double tapping on the left or right earbud (volume down, volume up, respectively). Why they did this the world may never know. It would have been a much more useful feature to instead be able to change the playback you are listening to on the earbuds when your device is out of immediate reach.***Battery Life: Good, 4 stars.–I don’t listen to music or playbacks at ear-bleeding volume levels, so I am able to squeeze out as much battery time as possible before having to put them back in the case to charge. I have found them to last a generous 7.5 hours, with ANC off.***Noise Cancellation/Ambient Sound: Good enough, 4 stars. –For my purposes, the noise cancellation is good. It’s a little harder to notice when you go from the Sony XM4 Earbuds (like I did) to these, but it fulfills its function adequately in blocking out ambient noises. I hear just a tiny, tiny bit of feedback from the earbuds when it’s on, but definitely not annoying at all. Noise cancellation gets 4 stars from me. Not industry leading, but not abysmal either. Just right. The ambient sound on these also fulfills its purpose. It’s not terrible, but it’s not amazing. You’ll get a kind of robo-like quality from voices, but it’s not terrible.***Fit: Ergonomics lacking, 3.5 stars:–I must say I was a little disappointed when I was finding the right fit for these. My ear canals are on the small-ish side. However, neither the medium silicone tips nor the small tips supplied were able to create a good enough seal. So, I reluctantly opted with the comply foam tips they supplied. It makes the buds a bit bulky when putting them in the charging case because there is no click feedback from the pull of the magnets telling me that the buds have snapped in and are charging. I find myself fiddling with the buds every time I put them in the case to make sure they are sitting correctly.***Charging case: Excellent, minimalist design with a satisfying click when you close it, 4.5 stars–My only gripe with the charging case is I wish it stored more juice and had a little more depth to accommodate the comply foam tips.I wanted to give these 5 stars just on the sound alone, but with all the little quirks and issues I have run into it does not justify it, especially when you consider the price these run for. Fix the software, and I will be more than happy to give that 5th star back.If I think of any more to add, I will update my review.****UPDATE**** Huge improvements to quality of life in a recent software update. I am now able to have my earbuds paired simultaneously to my phone and computer. ALSO, they just added track forward and backward on the multipoint touch sensor (Android). Connection speed has improved dramatically as well. BIG props to B&O for listening to its customers. It’s this kind of pouncing at the criticism that will secure customers for life. The buds still suffer from connection issues, but it’s not as bad as before the update. Tell B&O Sofware development to keep up the great work. Your customers appreciate it.I am updating my 4 star rating to 5 stars. Please continue down this path of improving the software/app. Aside from the fitting issues, and the things covered above (that wont be actionable on until B&O releases a new generation) the package they’ve put together is stellar ,just keep at it with the updates. I am content with this purchase and plan on keeping these as my go-to.

A Grade-A, Danish Company Makes a Bad Product And Does Nothing About Fixing the Problems

Bang & Olufsen let loose a wild and toothless pussy cat—the True Wireless EQ. Simply put, they simply do not work at least this batch did not. Their Chinese producers must have been either sick or mad at them when they made this particular batch for B&zoom. In my opinion, these EQs are majorly flawed in so many ways:1. The Bluetooth connection once made disappears from Apple’s Settings.and can’t be reconnected; Even though though the EQs automatically pair and connect to Bluetooth in Settings, I found that after downloading the Bang & Olufsen App in the App Store and then listen to some music that if you return the EQs to the case and recharge them for any amount of time the EQs no longer show in In Settings>Bluetooth. The only solution should be is to do a factory reset reset however, the reset also fails completely.. Now your only solution is to return the for an exchange to where you purchased them or to Bang & Olufsen where if a defect is found a replacement will be sent to you—no hassle or fuss.2. I found that if you use the handset or speakerphone on your call to make or take a phone call (at least on an iPhone) and you are have your EQs out of the charging case the call will notoriously switch over to the EQs without warning. I experienced this many times when speaking to Bang & Olufsen’s Tech Support. I thought the call had been mysteriously disconnected and I had to call back and never once did I talk to the same person.3. There is no way to control Transparency in the App—or at least I could not find one and neither could their Tech Support person.4. Having no detailed EQ setting as opposed to picking one of five settings such as ‘Bright’ or using a wheel that lets you choose those same five EQ settings or somewhere between two of the named settings. However, one is limited to this ‘mixed’ setting only if the two abutting settings the user wants to mix B&O has placed them next to each other. For most users, the wheel is enough but for those wanting more equalizer control, would it have been just as easy for B&O to have both ways to add the mor detailed equalizer control?5. Having the absolute, singular worst battery life in the EQs against some.of the most popular brands of Truly Wireless Earphones including Sony, Sennheiser, Bowers & Wilkins whose PI7 are sold at the same pricepoint as the EQs ($399.000) with longer battery life should be an extreme embarrassment for B&O—don’t you think?6. The volume is not loud enough for some music to be heard properly. Even if the volume is set to maximum in the App, it’s simply not loud enough to hear all instruments in orchestral music or individual voices in most other music. In most popular music today, I wish there would have been some way to have the vocals not be drowned out by the background music;7. Don’t even try to talk to someone using the EQs. You won’t be able to hear them; and finally,8. The instructions for doing a factory reset do not work. When two of your Customer Service/Technical Support team members were assisting me to perform one on the first set of EQs I purchased from Salesdirect, we together tried at least 7-8 times but could never get it to work. And again today, Sunday with anotherteam member and I had the same issue. Thirdly, one of the four team members I spoke with on Thursday sent me an email which contained a link to written instructions of how to perform a factory reset. The written instructions were basically the same the they had me do but I got the same results. NO FACTORY RESET; ERGO, NO WAY TO RECONNECT TO BLUETOOTH>RETURN TO SELLER>NO EQs FOR MY LISTENING PLEASURE.I am sure there are other settings that are not offered to the user or the user has a limited use of a particular setting. For $419.00 plus tax for the Limited Edition in Nordic Ice (color) which is nothing more than Silver, these EQs are terribly flawed and not worth even $50.00. I have had the original E8s and had to send the first sets in to B&O twice. Both sets had defects and the first set was replaced with a second set of E8s but B&O replaced the second set ofE8s with the E8 Motion(s). Finally, I had a set of Truly Wireless Earphones that were worth the price I paid for them which ere nowhere near the cost of the EQs.Sadly, why a company that produces speakers that are so brilliantly designed as well as produced with such great sound with well-balanced bass, mid-range and upper register tones, superbly blended and that makes some of the best speakers in the world today has so miserably failed to produce possibly the singular worst Truly Wireless Earphones made today is perplexing. What really hurts me so profoundly is that knowing so many professional reviews both written and on video along with those written by consumers have pointed out these same issues and problems I have reiterated here, is that Bang & Olufsen has not done anything to correct these issues. Whether B&O is resting on its laurels because its name known for making top quality speakers and over-ear headsets.Having known these weaknesses and flaws for the nearly three-quarters of a year should have done a worldwide recall after correcting these issues B&O should have done a total recall and replaced the faulty EQs when corrected. Or if these issues could or even can be corrected by a SOFTWARE update, then it’s still time to do so. The third alternative is to do both if necessary. If this highly a flawed earbud were made by Apple, for example, I am very sure that they would have taken a swift counteraction to do whatever was necessary to fix all these issues. Apple is very protective of their quality build of their all products released to the public for sale. Had someone bet me any amount of money that B&O would release such a badly manufactured product I would have taken them up on the bet.I need to say that the one big POSITIVE thing I got to experience in the three and one-half hours of listening to music—about one-half of Beethoven’s nine symphonies the sound is absolutely AWESOME! Of all the reviews I read, this is the one thing that all reviewers agreed on. Not only were/are the EQ’s top rated for sound, but it is probably the best sound of all Truly Wireless Earphones sold today. I was simply transformed from an ordinary human on Earth to something close to being what I believe Heaven will be like.

Stellar Sound (Limited to CODECs). Primitive App. Too Expensive. I Couldn’t Get a Good Fit/Seal

I ordered these after seeing stellar reviews of their sound quality on a number of sites and Flossy Carter’s channel. I have been using the Sony WF-1000 XM4s since June. Before those, Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2, along with the Galaxy Buds Pros. I also previously tried the Bose, Klipsch, Cambridge Audio and others (not the Airpod pros – I no longer have an iPhone). While the sound quality was the best I have heard (when using the same BT codec for comparison), I ended up returning them for several reasons.First, I could never get a good fit or seal with the included ear tips as well as my own personal favorite ear tips I have used since I bought the Anker Soundcore Liberty 2 Pros a few years back. I have a big head and ears, and I could never get a consistent seal with the B&Os using any tips. They would come lose easily if I moved pretty gently, like bending over to tie my shoe. I know a lot folks recommend the Comply tips. I tried those, too, because I have a bunch of those in their largest size. I have never liked them because they don’t stay in my ears. and my experience with the B&Os was the same.Second, despite not giving a good seal, they started hurting my ears after 1-1.5 hours of use. So much so, I had to take them out.Because the foregoing reason are personal, you may not have the issues I experienced.Third, the app and controls are primitive. Why is there no single tap control? Everything is a minimum double tap or double tap and hold. And there is no way to set a control to skip to the next or previous song. Many earphones allow you to customize your controls to your liking (the Sennheisers, the Galaxy Buds, the Sonys [to some degree]). Most of them allow you to control both volume and skip forward/back from the touch controls. Not these. And the volume adjustment feature, double-tap and hold, reacts way too fast, such that you almost always increase or decrease the volume more than you intended. There are also no audio cues to confirm that you have done anything when you tap the buds.Fourth, the sound is stellar, when you use the apt-x codec. For buds that also offer the apt-x codec, the B&Os are superior (ex. SennheiserMTW2, but not by much). The sound stage is broader and the image is clearer, although there is a fair amount of harshness on higher notes of challenging instruments like trumpets.A lot of reviews suggest that these sound better than the Sonys. That may be true in some comparisons (like maybe if you se the old SBC or AAC codecs), but I didn’t do those comparisons because I always use the highest quality codec offered on any buds. So, if you have an iPhone, the following will not matter since Apple only offers AAC.HOWEVER, these two buds don’t offer the same higher quality codecs. The Sonys offer LDAC but not apt-x, while the B&Os offer apt-x but don’t offer LDAC. The LDAC codec was developed by Sony, but it has licensed it out for free to all the phone and DAP manufacturers. It supports significantly higher data throughput rates than apt-x, but the tradeoff is definitely a less stable connection than apt-x.For me, the long and short of it was that the Sonys on LDAC sound noticeably better on most tracks than the B&Os on apt-x. Using my same ten HD and Ultra HD test tracks from Salesdirect Music, which span classical (symphonic and quartet), jazz, hip-hop, rock and African, the Sonys sounded better than the B7Os on 8 of the 10 tracks. They were more musical and balanced and gave a greater sense of air/resonance around each of the instruments.I returned the B&Os for the unexpected discomfort and lack of a good fit. But for forty+ percent more than the price of the Sonys ($399 vs. $278, and the Sony are now starting to get discounted), even if they were comfortable and gave a good seal, I would still not buy them.Bottom line: if your phones supports apt-x but not LDAC and, like me, your highest priority is sound quality, get the B&Os, assuming you can tolerate the idiosyncrasies of the controls/app and are willing to spend. If your phone supports LDAC (all Galaxy phones, for example), save the money and app frustration and get the Sonys. If you have an iPhone, you should probably stick with Airpods because of the inexplicable AAC-only requirement of the Apple ecosystem. And please let me know if Apple starts prioritizing sound quality over premium pricing (maybe by allowing the $550 Airpods Max to support some better codec than AAC?).

    Perfectly satisfied

Let me preface that when I bought this, it was priced at 180usd. And wow what a steal this is from B&O.Sound 5/5I came from Sony wf1000xm3 earbuds. These are better in overall clarity and a bit better in soundstage in my opinion. Bass in general hurt my ears, but the bass these are capable of producing is the thumpy, non-muddling kind that you can “feel”. In short, S-tier sound quality for earbuds, and it’s extremely difficult to go wrong at this price now that its 50% its original SRP.Build Quality 5/5Materials of the case and earbuds feel lightweight and sturdy. It seems to be quality plastic in metallic finish, which is perfectly acceptable if it means it’s less heavy.App 3/5This is the only issue I have with this purchase. While you could do a lot worse with apps, I’d say the Sonys still beat these here. Setting up these earbuds is confusing (like why does the case itself come up as a separate bluetooth device upon scanning?).Also, when I’m listening with these buds connected, the app says it can’t find the earbuds, so I’m unable to change settings or EQ immediately. The workaround seems to just be closing the app and opening again, and thats when it finds the earbuds (which were already connected). Im unsure if I’m the only one with this odd problem.Battery 4/5Perfectly suitable. Not crazy long battery life, but it meets my needs especially for 1 day trips.ANC 5/5Good functionality, but to be honest I didn’t really buy it for the ANC. No further comment here for me.

    Amazing earbuds buuuut…

I absolutely love these earbuds, the sound is amazing!! Touch controls work great, they fit perfectly in my ears with the rubber ear tips but the foam ear tips are the icing on the cake! The aluminum case feels super premium as well as the earbuds themselve, the app isn’t the most feature packed & it’s a bummer there isn’t even a 3 band EQ but that’s no biggie. The one major flaw with mine personally was updating them & connecting to Bluetooth, they literally wouldn’t update at all! They also would disconnect from my phone constantly, I contacted customer service through Bang & Olufsen & they were extremely helpful. They tried everything to help me troubleshoot the issues but in the end nothing worked so I decided to exchange them for the sand color model & none of the issues popped up! I guess I received a defective item which is such a relief because I absolutely love these earbuds. I highly recommend them!

    A little overrated i think.

I had way too high expectations from this tbh, kinda even surprised why it was so pushed and hyped up with such a tech review sharks like floss etc. First of all, only max volume will give some nice sound, lol. Lower a little and sounds way too low immediately. I’ll be super honest, i have TOZO T6 that absolutely smoking this one volume wise, and it doesn’t have anc. And i cannot listen TOZO on max volume, it’s just way too loud, you never need no anc with it. Meanwhile B&O max vol is “aight, cool”. Bass is nice, yes,but not pure , kinda messy bass, like those cars when the trunk and license plate making noise type of bass. With some songs even makes pop-pop noise that kinda hurt ear. TOZO bass is pure and very enjoyable. So yeah. Idk if it’s reasonable to spend even 170$ for this sound quality. YouTube reviewers must got paid idk. But you can buy those 20-40$ earbuds with lots of starts and over 60k reviews, you’ll get super nice sound product, again – those TOZO products i think winning easily and they are what? 18.99$? Like come on B&Q, really..I have beats also, but they are very poor bass wise, they’re clean and loud, not so much bass tho. So idk, i really consider to return these overrated B&Q’s. You’ll be left with feeling of being played lol.

    Worth it at current prices

The primary drawback to these are loudness. Not that they could use a tick or two more max volume but the driver itself seems to be maxed at max volume on the top end if you push the brightness. At just below max it’s pretty good. I find myself noticing things I haven’t noticed with other buds on a regular basis, both sounds and staging. The build quality is immaculate as well. They do best with the included foam tips for me. I do NOT feel the clarity or overall product is better than the Sennheiser momentum 3s but at $160 (I paid $185 for the sand color) they are worth adding to the collection. Like all high end earbuds just wait a year or until next year’s model comes and pay 25-60% less.

fits a little weird but sounds great

I’ve had these for a couple weeks now. Was a little skeptical because of the other reviews and prepared to return them immediately if any weirdness occurred. They sound really good, typical B&O quality. I have the H9is and they’re pretty comparable except, as other people have said, I have to turn the volume up to almost max level. I don’t know why that is. Also there’s a weird fuzzy/feedback noise initially when you put the buds in. Apparently this is a normal “feature” since the buds can be used independently (so I’ve read from someone who’s contact B&O). But seems like something that shouldn’t happen for a $400 pair of buds…Most of the gesture controls work fine. I can play/pause tracks, adjust the volume and turn on/off noise cancelling. But the triple tap for the track skipping/selection isn’t working for me.I think the noise cancelling works well. Obviously when there’s nothing playing it sounds like you’re on a plane and you can hear a little seepage. But I ride the train in nyc and can’t hear the breaks screeching or other people blasting music while listening.I docked a star because the fit is a little weird. They don’t feel very secure for their design. A little bit heavy and feel like they might fall out of my ear if I don’t like force twist it in and make sure they’ll stay. Can’t just easily pop them in like airpods or something. (and yes I’ve tried the other tips that come with them). They haven’t randomly fallen out yet, but that’s because I’m too conscious of making sure they’ll stay. I definitely wouldn’t run or exercise with these. Also when I’ve been walking in some wind, I can feel the wind hitting them and sometimes it even “breaks the seal” and can hear the wind. This may all just be because of my ear anatomy though.Overall, if I hadn’t gotten them on a prime day discount, I don’t know if they would have been worth the $400 for me. Even though they really do sound great (and look great), I feel a little worried about the fit sometimes and wish they could just stay comfortably in my ears. I also hope in the future they do something about the volume levels… I think if you want to get these definitely go to a store and check them out/try them on.

I bought these after the price drop ($170). As such, they are a great value. I prefer a more accurate sound. This is what they deliver. The app is ok but lacks the capabilities of apps you’d expect to find with earbuds originally price $250 or above.

On the Better Side of Very Good

Adding to my collection of Sennheiser CX Plus, Airpod 3 and Beat Fit Pro as was in search for the “better” sound range and quality… while the CX Plus, A3 and BF Pro are all good, after 2 weeks play with the B&O (playing similar songs) and swapping one for another, the B&O have a discerned better soundstage and separation of range. The only awkward part of the B&O is getting used to fitting the earpiece in one’s ear (and, also back in the container.Otherwise, very happy with this purchase.

Great sound not enough maximum volume

Excellent sounding earbuds but not enough maximum volume. I found my normal listening volume was always on maximum. For $400 I would expect a higher volume max for those songs you want to crank up. There are certain tracks that need more volume because of the recording level but I couldn’t get it with these. I updated the software, changed ear pieces, changed the positioning in my ear, changed the eq settings and noise cancelation settings and I still would like to have it go louder with certain music and tracks. The max volume was a deal breaker for me for spending that amount of money. If anyone has any suggestions on how to increase the volume, let me know. If I can’t I’m going to return them.

Simply amazing!ANC worked great in car with window down!Would like some way to set balance. Was unable to reduce blustering wind noise when walking the dog, but I understand that is a challenge to all earbuds? Many of us reconnected to our video meetings and our phones during work hours. For this price these buds need at least 2 Bluetooth connections simultaneously. I think that is a must have.Overall I’m very happy I bought them.

    No song skip??

I feel like the whole point of these inventions is to reduce the need to handle your phone. But for some reason skipping to the next song on these are still “waiting for an update” to make that a thing. Seriously? Why even release a product that can’t even do that BASIC thing. That’s so irritating! But everything else… Is dope!

Sound Quality is the only plus side.

The sound quality is amazing. But that’s basically the only thing they got going for em. they are very large and you definitely can notice the mass. The touch controls honestly suck and are over complicated, and you can’t customize them. They also sometimes have issues pairing. The app is ight ig. Good battery life and build quality. If you have a iPhone get the Air Pods pro, if ur a android user the Galaxy Buds pro are decent too.

Connectivity is a pain in the ass

When you can get them connected to your device they’re great, but have fun re-pairing them several times every time you go use them. I think I’ve had them re-connect to my phone automatically 2 times out of the 100+ that I’ve used them so far.Edit – now (one month after buying) they won’t pair at all.Update – hard reset (full uninstall and unpair) + software update and they’re working better than ever. Hopefully the trend continues.

Fantastic Sound Quality But Just Not Loud Enough

Thee earbuds have amazingly good sound but I only kept them for a few hours before generating a return because they just weren’t loud enough. I turned my phone’s volume up to the maximum volume and the sound level was at a comfortable level. Compared to every other headphone/earbuds I’ve owned, I’d say the maximum sound level 10 here would be a 5 on all other headphones/earbuds. I definitely wouldn’t be able to use them on an airplane because they wouldn’t be loud enough.I was looking for earbuds to replace my AirPods Pro 2. These sound better but didn’t fit my ears as well. My left earbud kept falling out no matter which size I used. I also found the app to be a bit clumsy and full of features I don’t want. I’d just like somewhere to enhance the sound of my earbuds but don’t care much for different stations, etc. Each page seemed to load slowly but that could have been my signal. Perhaps I’ll re-look at the next version. I ended up getting the Bose Quiet Comfort. They’re awesome.

    Don’t waste your money

I really, really wanted to like this product – but this product should never have been approved….miserable engineering failure.Firstly, sound is good but NOT LOUD ENOUGH….(huh? what did you say?) – I said – not LOUD enough !!Secondly, irrespective of the size and choice of replacement rubber tips – these DO NOT stay in your ears well enough….just a little too heavy and fittings are poorly designed (reminds me of Uhurah on Star Trek – now you know why she constantly had to keep touching her ear piece to keep it in….stupid design).Thirdly, the app is dismal in terms of features (go for Sony MF-1000MX4 if you want great features) there’s the illusion of EQ within the App itself but really – they thought they were being smart creating a wheel with sound characteristics – that’s just egineers wanking in your face…a simple 5 band eq would have sufficed.Fourth, the sound deading is ok – nothing wrong but it kicks in automatically whenever a call comes in and that is not always appropriate – like if you’re riding a bike may or whatever – either way it’s distracting rather than helpful. Finally, the last straw – the left ear piece failed and went dead within 2 weeks.Called support which was great that you could get someone on the line – but essentially they told me after a failed factory reset the process was either return for refund or return for replacement which would mean they assess and send you new ones if they agree it was HW failure – !! Ridiculous – never again.B&O you have not place to be producing in-ear sound systems if this is the best you can do – what an absolute and utter abject failure – you can run away in shame at the crap job that you did in producing this product….whoever led the engineering of these should be fired ! (No wonder they never sold at $400 a set and then were being dumped at $250….even at $250 they are over priced for miserable low volume….just so disappointing.Don’t waste your money. The End (of my rant.)

Fit difficult to impossible with smallish ears

Better sound than with my Samsung buds+, for the one time I used the B&O earbuds. Connecting to my tablet was frustrating. Took multiple attempts before I got them to work. To my phone was fine. The left earbud also lost battery much faster than the right. My right would be at 90 and the left at 60%. My biggest issue and why I returned them was the fit. These earbuds are a bit large. I found that I could not get them to stay in. Tried different tips and the tips that fit best (2nd size up, not the smallest ones) still did not hold the bud securely in my ear, especially the left one. The one time and only time I used them, it popped out twice. Once I got it in to stay, it was not very comfortable. The right one was also hard to get in and stay, but not as bad as the left. My Samsung buds+ fit snuggly in my ear, the B&O do not. If you have smallish ears, you might want to take a pass.

Sound was *ok*. Volume: meh. Mic: absolute TRASH. Returned.

For the money- I expected so much better.Connectivity: a complete pain. I have never had to fiddle around more with a set of earbuds. Disable phone’s BT. Reconnect with app. Reconnect with the phone’s BT. It was at least an hour before I found the perfect combination of forgetting, resetting and reconnecting.Volume control in (the horridly slow and buggy) app is independent of hardware/phone volume. Not a showstopper but definitely not a standard practice.Mic quality was sketchy. Absolutely horrid. Single ear. Both ears. Doesn’t matter. It would connect for a little while and be ok.. and then either sound super far away or distorted beyond belief.Sound quality. Literally nothing to write home about. Bass response was decent. Mids were overdriven. Highs were crushed. There’s nothing which makes these stand out from the comp, and given the price- it was super disappointing.Fit: These things perpetually feel like they’re going to fall out. The angle that they fit into the case is annoying and weird. Not something you can quickly take off and stow. You have to slow down for a sec and make sure you have the angle right. It’s a fumbly nightmare.ANC: Wait these things have noise cancelling? Yah. It’s terrible. Barely perceptible. The “levels” of NC within the app are gimmicky. Noise cancellation isn’t that great to begin with. Why would B&O offer to reduce it even further? Clowns.Overall these things feel and sound average.. The mic is absolute garbage. Completely overprice. B&O are clearly getting bold to think they can charge for this sort of subpar performance.

Nice Buds but not for regular use. Not very convenient too.

This is something I have been forward to, after going through a lot of reviews and recommendations. (Though I have to admit that there were certain flaws in it too, which I was well aware like lack of multi-point etc), but ignoring all that, I did everything to get my hands on it.From India, I was ready to pay (and I paid too), not just the full price of the product but also added almost 70% of import duty and courier charges. All was fine, and as I thought I was ready to compromise on using it with either my phone or laptop at a time. But there has been a lot more disappointments, which over-weighs the Pro’s this product has.Everytime I need to connect to the either device, there is a lot of hassles involved in dis-connecting, re-pairing and re-connecting as this does not simply gets hooked/ connected to the other device. And everytime going through such ordeal, actually discouraged me to even think of using it with two devices (even though one at a time).Plus, after a week-ten days of usage, both the buds started giving a consistent hissing sound which was louder than the original audio content itself. That became unbearable.I tried everything, re-setting to default settings, re-installing the app software, un-pairing/ pairing, trying individual bud independently, updating phone software, using it with different phone and laptop; but all failed. Now, have no option but to return this.Had huge expectations.

    Not worth it

Yes I gave it a positive rating but don’t let that deceive you. The headphones for music are great if I put them on I can’t hear much of the outside world but for answering calls the quality is horrible. Also I have a manual labor job so I move around a lot. They aren’t the best at staying in your ear. I’ve had better options. Based on value for money they aren’t worth it for an overall experience. If I had to do it all over again I wouldn’t purchase them unfortunatelyMusic is great that’s the biggest plus

    Frustrating

I was expecting so much more from a b&o product. My wife got a bose equivalent ( noise cancelation and price range) and it is so much better. Noise cancelation is very weak/limited. And it is inappropriate for outdoor, especially on a bike.

    Great Sound and Call quality

Update: Just found out I can’t use the mic in PRO VIDEO mode for S22 Ultra. My Sennheiser TWS 3 is being detected, but the EQ doesn’t. Not sure if it’s compatibility issue or not.Great sound! Bass is just fine and not overwhelming. I prefer the Momentum 3 if we’re talking about bass. Volume seems to be 2 levels below the Momentum 3 ( the latter’s louder). Not sure about the ANC since it’s not my priority but it does the job and I’m contented to it. I feel like it performs the same with Momentum 3. Got the firmware upgrade as well, skip track is working. Call quality is just fine it doesn’t create static-ish unlike the Momentum 3.

    Phone calls were poor

I had high expectations for these headphones. I read so much about them I was expecting studio quality sound with above average ANC and decent phone call quality.First, the audio (and by default, the ANC…) I am unable to give an accurate assessment here. Due to a smaller-sized ear opening and despite trying multiple aftermarket ear tips, including Comply foam tips, I could not get these to fit properly in my ears. (The best fit so far for my ear shape is the new Liberty Pro 3 bud. However, I have only changed the silicone membranes twice on this earbud to try the different sizes and they’re already starting to rip! Except for that, the LP3’s at their price-point have been outstanding!! Very, very good sound, good battery life, multipoint connectivity, good ANC, an EQ with custom pre-sets, very good call quality and jam-packed with a dozen more features…More on this at another time…)On call quality…this B and O just failed me. Callers reported my voice transmission was horrible; lots of static and drop-off. On my end, their voice sounded very hollow and thin, like a trash can. This was the 5th pair of earbuds I purchased (and returned) I was so disappointed…but there is something for everyone. I continued my search……
